Jessica L Nelson,

(co-winner of the 2005 writer grant) is one of the women who has created  the "La Closerie des Lilas prize", baptized "Prix Lilas". This prize will be awarded for the first time on March 7, 2007, day before the 150th anniversary of the world day of the woman, à la Closerie des Lilas, in Paris. It has to crown a woman, novelist of French language whose novel is published in the beginning January 2007.

Raynal Pellicer,

(film director’s grant winner in 1993) won with the series “Champion in more than one way” (series of short programs on Handisport diffused on France 2), the prize of the International Olympic Committee at the festival of Santander.

Les Yeux de Sarah (Through Sarah’s Eyes), a 52-minute documentary directed by Patrick Chauvel (in preparation), recounts a year of the work and travels of Sarah Caron (2000 Photographer grant winner).

Agnès Desarthe,

(1995 Writer grant winner) released a new book at the end of August, Mangez Moi (Eat Me), published by Editions de l’Olivier. She also participated in the writing of a compilation of short stories for publisher Ecole des Loisirs, La Cinquième Saison (The Fifth Season), together with Arnaud Cathrine (2001 Writer grant winner) among others.

Christie Molia,

(2004 Producer grant winner) has produced various short subjects for the television series Des Racines et des Ailes through her production company TSVP. Two films have been broadcast: Baroque Sicily on 26 July and Japan, Between Tradition and Modernity on 30 August.

Stéphane Lagoutte,

Lagoutte (2002 Photographer grant winner) will take part in the Rencontres d’Arles, held from 4 July to 17 September, via a projection of a selection of his photographs.

David Foenkinos released a new book

at the end of May, titled Le Coeur Autonome (The Autonomous Heart), published by Grasset.

The Dual Revelation Award (Trophée Duo Révélation)

for the year’s best first French film based on the success of its producer/director team was bestowed this year on production company Gloria Films (Laurent Lavolé, 1994 Producer grant winner) and director Karin Albou for La Petite Jérusalem.

Bertrand Gore

(1994 Producer grant winner), whose company is called Sunday Morning Productions, is shooting Dans les Cordes, written and directed by Magaly Richard-Serrano (also a winner of the Foundation’s 2002 Scriptwriter grant) and featuring Richard Anconina, Maria de Medeiros, Louise Szpindel, Stephanie Sokolinski, Jean-Pierre Kalfon and Bruno Putzulu. Distribution and sales will be handled by Pyramide.
