The world is being bombarded with more and more bits of digital information (images, videos, text, music, etc.) that are becoming increasingly difficult to process (sort, classify, research, screen, etc.) for conversion into useful knowledge. Convinced that this is one of society’s biggest challenges, the Jean- Luc Lagardère Foundation supports active programs
carried by young scientists at Supélec and at the CEA.
The challenge is both scientific and social in nature, involving the transformation of information flows into knowledge and the improved adaptation of content to the needs of users. By providing support for creativity and showing solidarity with those without access to advanced knowledge, the Foundation participates in research efforts, while placing itself in a position to monitor and forecast new trends in the cultural content of the future.
The Jean-Luc Lagardère Foundation has decided to assist Ircam with its artistic and scientific development and with its educational actions led at schools. As a cutting edge centre for contemporary music research and production, Ircam shares with the Jean-Luc Lagardère Foundation the wish to introduce the digital culture into the heart of the city.
The Jean-Luc Lagardère Foundation has decided to support the “Digital Pathway Program”, a programme of training and access to employment in the digital economy aimed at young people from disadvantaged districts.
