The Jean-Luc Lagardère Foundation has become a partner of the Fédération Française de Sport Adapté, whose purpose consists in enabling the physically or mentally disabled to engage in the sport of their choice.
As part of this partnership, the Foundation gave its support to an outstanding evening event called “Everyone can join the parade”, which took place on Monday, 30th June 2008 in the reception rooms of the Paris Town Hall. During the course of this evening, twenty models, all FFSA members, paraded an off-the-peg collection designed specifically for the disabled wearer. This parade was followed by an exhibition of paintings on the subject of sport. These paintings were the work of disabled members of the Etablissements et Services d’Aide par le Travail (ESAT) [a system designed to facilitate integration into the mainstream labour market for people with disabilities].
Other culture- and sports-related initiatives will take place over the coming months as part of this partnership, the aim being to highlight the creativity of disabled persons and to change society’s perspective on disabilities.
